Welcome to My Blog!
I am excited to start this new project and even more excited to share it with you all! I decided to start this blog to use it as a platform for sharing personal stories as well as to self-reflect on my teaching practices and professional growth.
I have always wanted to become a teacher and it is almost hard to believe that I am finally one! It has been a long, challenging journey. From working multiple jobs while going to school full-time to having to leave my last job in order to fully dedicate myself to my career, getting to where I am now was tough. I also had to pass a bunch of standardized tests—you have probably heard about the CBEST, CSET I, II, III, and RICA exams—and take on student loans, which I will soon have to start repaying. But all of it was worth it. Today, while I look for a job, I can envision being a positive force of change in the lives of my future students.
One thing I always say is that to become a teacher you really have to want it with all your heart because going through this process will shake your world. The credential program will push you, challenge you and take you out of your comfort zone … In all honesty, I look back and wonder “How did I do all of that!?”
I am ready to begin my career as a full-time bilingual multiple subject elementary school teacher. I cannot wait to have my own classroom, with all the excitement and responsibilities it entails. I look forward to getting to know my future students and their families, my future colleagues, the school, and all its staff.
I am excited about what it is to come and all the adventures and challenges that await me. I plan to blog frequently and share my journey with you. As a new teacher, I am sure there will be a lot to talk about! Stay tuned! ¡Hasta pronto!
